O empresário Luciano Hang foi recentemente condenado pelo Tribunal de Justiça do Rio Grande do Sul (TJRS) por difamação e injúria contra o arquiteto Humberto Tadeu Hickel..
A sentença decorre de um vídeo de 2020, onde Hang chamou Hickel de “esquerdopata” e sugeriu que ele “vá para Cuba”. O incidente ocorreu após Hickel liderar uma campanha contra a instalação de uma réplica da Estátua da Liberdade em Canela, argumentando que o monumento desrespeitava o ambiente urbano e o Plano Diretor da cidade.
Hickel relatou que, após a publicação do vídeo, recebeu inúmeras ofensas e ameaças que impactaram negativamente sua saúde e rotina, forçando-o a mudar seus hábitos e a evitar passeios com seus netos em Canela.
O TJRS condenou Hang a 1 ano e 4 meses de reclusão em regime aberto, além de 4 meses de detenção, convertidos em penas alternativas, incluindo serviços comunitários e uma multa de 35 salários mínimos (R$ 49,4 mil) para a vítima. Além disso, Hang deve pagar uma penalidade financeira de 20 dias-multa, totalizando R$ 282,4 mil. A defesa de Hang anunciou que irá recorrer da decisão, enquanto a defesa de Hickel celebrou a restauração da honra do arquiteto.
