Brasília, 03 de outubro de 2023 – A Polícia Federal (PF) dará início à emissão do novo modelo de passaporte brasileiro a partir desta terça-feira, 3 de outubro. O novo documento traz alterações significativas em seu design, incluindo imagens que representam a flora e fauna brasileiras em várias de suas páginas, conforme demonstrado em um vídeo publicado pela PF.
Uma das principais mudanças é a ênfase na segurança contra fraudes, com um aumento no número de marcas d’água em comparação ao modelo anterior. A capa do passaporte agora destaca o brasão da República, substituindo as estrelas do Cruzeiro do Sul e incorporando um efeito de baixo relevo.
Além da tradicional foto colorida tirada no momento da solicitação do passaporte, o novo documento incluirá uma foto em preto e branco baseada em dados biométricos da pessoa na página de informações pessoais. Também serão adicionadas imagens visíveis somente sob luz ultravioleta.
É importante destacar que a emissão do novo passaporte brasileiro em embaixadas e consulados no exterior terá início somente em 2024. Não será obrigatório trocar o passaporte antigo pelo novo, a menos que o documento esteja completamente preenchido ou tenha expirado, sendo sua validade de 10 anos.
Em relação às taxas de emissão, o custo para a obtenção do novo passaporte é de R$ 257, sendo que em casos de emergência, o valor é de R$ 334. Para solicitar o passaporte, basta acessar o site do Governo Federal, preencher um formulário, efetuar o pagamento da taxa e agendar um atendimento em uma unidade de atendimento específica.
