PGR Solicita ao STF Depoimento do Deputado Gustavo Gayer por Declarações Discriminatórias contra Africanos
Procuradoria-Geral da República busca esclarecer as declarações controversas do parlamentar e considera possibilidade de abrir inquérito
Brasília, 24 de setembro de 2023 – A Procuradoria-Geral da República (PGR) enviou um pedido ao Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF) para interrogar o deputado Gustavo Gayer (PL-GO), mesmo partido do ex-presidente Jair Bolsonaro, sobre suas polêmicas declarações discriminatórias em relação aos africanos.
O pedido da PGR ocorreu após deputadas federais acionarem o STF, buscando uma investigação de Gayer por racismo, devido a sua participação em um podcast.
Em uma entrevista concedida em 23 de junho, o deputado e o apresentador associaram africanos a um baixo quociente de inteligência (QI) e alegaram que eles não possuem a “capacidade cognitiva” necessária para viver em uma sociedade democrática.
Lindôra Araújo, vice-procuradora-geral da República, afirmou que a oitiva de Gustavo Gayer é crucial para avaliar se deve ser aberto um inquérito contra o parlamentar. Além disso, Lindôra Araújo solicitou que as plataformas que veicularam o podcast preservem a entrevista.
